Maurine Jensen McCoy, 82, of Orem, Utah passed away October 5, 2013, when her body could no longer keep up with her spirit.
Maurine was born November 17, 1930 in Holden, Utah to Harold and Grace Wood Jensen.
She grew up in Sugarville, UT where she graduated from Delta High School and later attended LDS Business College in Salt Lake City. She served a mission for the LDS Church in the West Central States Mission from 1957-1958. On August 21, 1959 she married John Ray McCoy in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They are the parents of six children and 9 grandchildren. Maurine faithfully served in many callings in the LDS Church, including Relief Society President and Young Women President. She loved the Church and her family - especially her grandchildren.
Maurine is survived by her children: Lynette of Orem; Diane of Eldersburg, MD; Kevin (Dana) of Orem; Mary Lynn (Bart) Schaerrer of Lindon; John of Austin, TX; and Karen (Brian) Clothier of Salem, OR. Her eight granddaughters: Heather McCoy, Kaitlyn (Nicholas) Polansky, Mercedes Schaerrer, Megan McCoy, Shelby Schaerrer, Riley McCoy, Morgan Clothier, Sarah Clothier and her grandson, Owen Clothier. She is also survived by her sister and two brothers: Virginia (Val) Sorensen, Alan (Christie) Jensen and Richard (JoAnn) Jensen. She was preceded in death by her husband, John, her parents, and four brothers: Ronald, Ralph, Evan and Ross. There will be a viewing Tuesday, October 8th from 6-8 pm at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State, Orem. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 9th at 11:00 am in the Sharon Stake Center, 545 South 800 East, Orem, with a viewing at 9:30. Burial will be in the Tooele City Cemetery at 3:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the LDS Church Humanitarian Aid Fund.
